An hour with
nothing asked of you.
Terra Lume Reiki is a 60-minute session designed to support rest and relaxation — held at Eaglehawk Neck, at Nubeena, or by distance.
You stay fully clothed. No belief required, and no prior experience needed.
An old practice, plainly described.
Reiki is a gentle hands-on — or hands-near — complementary practice. The session is quiet and unhurried, and it is designed to support relaxation and rest.
The word is Japanese, formed from two characters: rei, meaning universal, and ki, meaning life force. The practice was developed in the early twentieth century by Mikao Usui and travelled from Japan to the West in the mid-twentieth century. It is now one of the most widely practised complementary modalities in the world.
In a session the practitioner rests their hands on or just above the body, moving through a sequence of positions. Practitioners describe their role as holding space rather than doing something to you. There is nothing you need to concentrate on and nothing to get right.
Reiki is not a medical treatment. It is a complementary practice, received alongside your existing health care rather than in place of it.
Arrive, settle, rest.
You arrive a few minutes early and settle in. Frederica sits down with you briefly to ask what you would like from the hour and whether there is anything she should know.
Then you rest, fully clothed, on a treatment table. Frederica works with light touch, or with her hands held just above the body if you prefer — you can say so at the start or change your mind partway through. Most of the session is quiet.
At the end there is time to sit up slowly and have a glass of water before you drive home. Nobody is hurried out.
Experiences vary from person to person. Some people notice warmth or a gentle heaviness; some find the hour deeply restful; some drift close to sleep. Terra Lume makes no promise about what yours will be.
The hour, and what surrounds it.
A preparation guide
Sent one to two days beforehand — what to wear, how to reach the hall, where to park, and a few simple suggestions for arriving unhurried.
The session
A full 60 minutes on the table, with a short conversation before and unhurried time at the end.
Aftercare notes
Written notes sent that evening or the following morning — how to look after yourself for the next day or two.
A personal check-in
Frederica checks in with you two days later. Not an automated message — a real one.
You do not have to believe anything in particular to lie down for an hour and rest.
Some people arrive with a long relationship to this work. Others arrive frankly unconvinced and mostly interested in an hour that asks nothing of them. Both are welcome, and neither is better prepared than the other.
What most people agree on afterwards is simpler than the debate: an hour of complete permission to stop turns out to be surprisingly rare.
Reiki sessions are currently by request.
All three are 60 minutes and all three are $95. Online booking is not currently available — send a request below and Frederica will be in touch to arrange a time.
Eaglehawk Neck
$95
On the table with a short conversation before and unhurried time at the end. There is plenty of parking. For most of the peninsula this is minutes away rather than a Hobart round trip.
Available by request
Nubeena
$95
The same session, held further down the peninsula. If Nubeena is your end of the road, this is the shorter drive — and the arrangement, the hour and the care are identical.
Available by request
By distance
$95
You rest somewhere comfortable at home for the same 60 minutes while Frederica works at the agreed time. There is no video call to be present for. Preparation, aftercare and the two-day check-in are the same.

Thank you — your request has been received.
Frederica will be in touch by email or phone to arrange a time that suits you. There is nothing else you need to do.
For in-person sessions, you may pay online after booking or bring cash to your appointment. Distance Reiki is paid by card at the time of booking. Card and EFT are not available at the appointment. $95 introductory rate for Terra Lume's first season of sessions.
We ask for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice are charged 50% of the session fee; missed appointments are charged in full. If something unexpected happens, please contact Frederica directly — these situations are always handled with care.
Who Reiki suits.
Reiki is a gentle practice considered appropriate for most people.
If you have a current health condition, are pregnant, or are undergoing medical treatment, please mention this when you book. The booking form asks a few straightforward questions, and Frederica will be in touch if there is anything to discuss before your appointment is confirmed.
Reiki is not diagnostic. Frederica does not assess, diagnose or comment on health conditions, and nothing in a session is a reason to change or stop treatment you are already receiving.
If you are unsure whether Reiki is appropriate for you, please speak with your doctor or treating practitioner before booking. Your answers on the booking form are used only to make your session safe and comfortable, and are held in accordance with the Terra Lume Privacy Policy.
Frederica Dillon
Frederica has practised Reiki for five years, and lives and works on the Tasman Peninsula in southern Tasmania.
Her wider background includes yoga teacher training, ontological coaching and art therapy practitioner training, alongside a professional career in communications and brand strategy — a long time spent in the quiet work of noticing what happens when people slow down and give themselves room.
She is also training in Biofield Tuning through BioSona. Terra Lume is where those threads meet: a small, carefully held complementary wellbeing practice, run with the care she would want herself.
